College essay
UCF
As a child, I grew
up around two big bothers and a sister. I was the youngest of three siblings. I
have always looked up to my big brothers, Eddie and Adalberto. They are the two
people who inspire me the most. I always did my best to live up to the expectations
they have set for me, because having my mother proud is what I always aspired
in my life. Once both of my brothers decided to attend University of Central Florida,
my interest for learning about UCF and becoming a knight became greater. Their
rigorous business program also interests me and is an essential reason why I
would like to attend UCF.
My brothers have
accomplished amazing goals at their University. Adalberto, bowled for his first
two years representing UCF and their bowling team, he traveled all over the
country competing against other colleges and made it all the way to nationals
in his second year. After his second year he decided to become involved in
Greek life, where he contributed as an active member in philanthropic events. Eddie
took a different route and joined the LEAD Scholars program as well as the
Orientation Team, learning to improve his leadership skills. As Chair of the
President’s Leadership Council, he continues to make a significant impact in
the UCF and Orlando community.
UCF stands for
opportunity and despite being the second largest university in the nation, it
still manages to accommodate every student. My brothers have left huge
expectations for me to live up to, and I have always been ready to step up to
the challenge. I want to leave a big impact at UCF, just like my brothers. In
my first year at UCF, I would like to join the Orientation Team to improve my
leadership skills. As my college career
progresses, I would like to join the Greek life and be a part of something
special just like both of my brothers. I wish to join a fraternity that gets involved
with the University I attend. I enjoy participating in campus activities and servicing
the Orlando community and University. I love meeting new people and at Lake
Mary Preparatory School I am a part of student ambassador where I represent my
school and introduce new students that want to attend Lake Mary Prep. I aim for
people to speak great things of me. When people hear the name Adam Garcia I
want them to remember how caring and kindhearted I was to others. Both of my brothers are leaving positive
marks at UCF, and now it is my turn.
